Bedtime Music
My first born, Alyssa, sleeps with music on. She makes sure her playlist is playing in her iphone (hopefully we find mp3 player deals) then she puts it under her pillow and she snoozes off a few minutes later.
What’s in her playlist? Well, there’s Butterfly Kisses, Dance with my Father, In my Daughter’s Eyes, Sing Me Your Song Again Daddy, among the many others that are just about kids and parents.
She also has her iPhone dock, but that’s used only when she sleeps in her room. Yes, she co-sleeps with us. And Y-E-S, she’s 7. We love to have her and her little sister in our bed, though we also wanted them to learn how to sleep by themselves. But until they say they don’t want to sleep with us anymore, they are more than welcome to make dad’s feet off the bed. =)
School Runs & Work
When I got the job I knew I was only working on weekends, but since Daddy isn’t very busy yet I was able to add more working hours which means working Tuesdays and Thursdays in addition to the regular Saturdays and Sundays. It was easier during the summer holidays, but since the school started I find it quite difficult to get everything done and rush off to work in the span of 1 hour, not to mention the 15 minute walk I have to do every time. This is the reason why I am so eager to learn how to drive and get my license very soon, hopefully before the winter season. If that will take a bit longer to achieve, then I will have to get my hjc helmets ready and force daddy to grant my scooter request.
In all honesty, I salute all the mums who can juggle both. For me, as much as I would want to work more I think I have to consider cutting hours soon so I can become a better and effective mum to both my precious girls.
Charm Bracelet
Before our Alyssa turns 7, hubby said we’ll gift her with charm bracelet and charms will be added on her birthday every year. But then, considering everything, we couldn’t afford yet to give her that as we have so many priorities to consider. The bracelet itself already costs so much, not to mention the price per piece of the charms.
Hopefully we are still able to give her that soon, but right now she isn’t demanding anything that costs that much for a gift. Maybe in a year or two, we are already able to afford it, plus the lovely guy harvey jewelry which she also loves.
