Song From A Mom’s Heart – Mommy Moments
25th February, 2010
When Alyssa was still a baby, I often play the song “Butterfly Kisses” and it serves as her lullaby… I love it because I want my daughter to be so close to her Dad. As a breatsfeeding mom, I believe that everyday during those times, I am having that strong bond with my daughter, so with the song that she’s hearing while she’s growing up, it will give her a message that Dad loves her just the same.
And I was right, because as she grows up, she memorizes the song by heart and calls that song “Daddy Song”. It was just a very sweet and touching song for a father and daughter, specially the first part which was about childhood. It has now become more popular and seems to be a common song for weddings.
For me, personally, I love the song “If I Could” and I first heard it while browsing Sharon Cuneta’s videos (Oh Yes! I’m one heck of a Sharonian! LOL) in YouTube. She sang it to KC way way back. The song was sung by Celine Dion and Barbara Streisand too, though I was deeply touched with Sharon’s version and my tears even fell as I watch and listen.

I haven’t tried playing it yet to Alyssa, but because I remembered it again, I will add it in our iPod now. So from now on, she’ll have both “Daddy Song” and “Mommy Song”. Alyssa can’t sleep without music, so this is a good addition to her playlist.
And as a daughter, the song I want to sing to my parents when I’m given the chance is the song, “Do I Make You Proud”, which this time was sung by KC to Sharon. And I would want to know their answer.

Valentines Day – Mommy Moments
18th February, 2010
We do celebrate Valentines since the first up to now, but we don’t go out on the day itself. It just makes us feel more in love and it somehow refreshes our first year together where our love was indeed flaming hot. It didn’t end when we had our daughter, which I am really happy and thankful about. My daughter has been my accomplice since last year and last year’s surprise for Daddy was a success, but this year… IT WAS NOT!!! =)
It’s funny how kids can be so honest and true. I bought my surprise card for hubby earlier, but it was already Friday night when I realized that I haven’t written on it yet so I rushed off to finish and keep the card before hubby arrives and that time, hubby was already on his way home. As I write, I told Alyssa that the card is a surprise and that she shouldn’t tell daddy about it and that Daddy can only know about this on Sunday. She lowered her voice and said, “Shhhh… Mum, I won’t tell Dad. It’s a surprise! It’s Valentines day, I want a pancake again for breakfast!” Until…
Dad arrived home. Alyssa came rushing to her Dad on the door and said, “Dad! Dad! Mum has a gift for you. It’s a surprise. You can’t open it now, you can only open it on Sunday because it’s Valentines Day on Sunday!” WAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really burst into laughter. But even though Dad already knew about it, he chose not to open it until Sunday.
The next morning (Saturday), Alyssa went to the window and said, “Mum, is it sunny day? Can Dad open his surprise now?” Again… I laughed and said, “Anak, sunny day is different from Sunday. Today is Saturday and tomorrow is Sunday.” Oh, how precious my little angle is.
Hope you all had a lovely Valentines celebration. Please share yours in Mommy Moments.

I’ve already told our whole Valentines story with lovely surprises, so now all I will share here are the rest of the pictures I’ve taken during our celebration.
How cute is she??? LOL! Sleeping on the road… =)
While we were waiting for our Chinese foods, I asked her to give me a pose and I’m so happy that she did even though she was busy playing with my iPhone.
Random pics taken on our way to the restaurant, before watching Avatar, and just before we hop on the train.
Of course, pictures with mom…
AND
with Dad.
On the actual day…
Here are Dad’s sweet surprises.
Hope you all had a wonderful Valentines Day.
