Pain In Mom’s Heart
26th February, 2010
It always pains me to see kids who are having difficulties in any way. I can’t understand why can’t all kids just be as normal as the others. I guess when you’re really a mom, your deepest soul is being touched by kids.
Our house is very near the disabled center and everyday I can see people of any age in wheelchairs. I thought, if only they were guided right by their parents when they were younger, maybe they should have recovered well. I can say this because the people taking good care of them are people who works in social services and not their relatives. It’s sad that they can’t speak well and they are having a hard time communicating how they feel. Most of the time, they just shout to ease the pain.
I’ve encountered once a speech and language development site that assesses children as early as 3 months to 5 years. It’s not free, but £19.95 a year per child is not much either. They even offer 20% discount on registration until 31 March 2010 using the code BVT1015. Videos to better navigate the site are also provided. It’s also fun for kids because after the assessment, fun activities are provided to enable the parents to provide targeted therapy at home. I always believe that the earlier the child shows symptoms of difficulty in speech, parents should already be alarmed about the possible causes and effects because some highlights adverse indicators such as hearing impairment or even autism.
